Inclusive Basic Service Delivery and Livelihood Empowerment Integrated Project (IBSIP), Borno State organized House to House Hygiene Promotion Exercise within Jere and M. M. C. where 317 Households were covered, and 2178 individuals were reached in M.M.C.
The House to House Hygiene Promotion Exercise was successfully declared opened by the Project Manager IBSIP, Engr. Dr. Mohammed Musa Aliyu and the Project Implementation Unit(PIU), hygiene team.
The exercise was held at Gwange lll ward, M. M. C. and Mashamari ward of Jere L. G. As. and is part of the Borno State governments effort towards encouraging sustainable hygiene practice in our communities.
The PM then advised the community leaders to remain focused and support the efforts of government and her partners towards a healthy society by ensuring people adopt best hygiene practices towards achieving an Open Defecation Free (ODF) Borno State.
Hygiene promotion refers to various strategies employed to improve hygiene behavior in our communities, thereby preventing various hygiene diseases in our communities.
In his contribution, the Director Sanitation RUWASSA, Engr. Mohammed Maulud added that the goal of house to house hygiene promotion exercise is to help people understand and develop good hygiene practice so as to prevent spread of Covid-19 pandemic, as well as other diseases, and to promote positive attitude towards cleanliness.
