Inclusive Basic Service Delivery and Livelihood Empowerment Integrated Project (IBSIP), Borno State organised a TWO-DAY training on Backyard Vegetable Gardening to 300 Participants commencing on the 19th of December, 2020.
The workshop was held at Demonstration Farm of Mohammed Lawan College of Agric, Maiduguri Borno State.
The State Project Manager (PM) of IBSIP, Engr. Dr. Mohammed M. Aliyu and the PIU team officially declared the workshop opened.
In his opening remarks, the project manager thank the Almighty Allah and the Borno State Government under the dynamic leadership of Engr. Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum mni FNSE for approving and funding the training as well as AfDB for her support.
The PM then advised the participants to use this rare opportunity to learn and then apply the knowledge for self sustainability.
The participants are vulnerables drawn from the IDPs (mostly widows), recently resettled communities, less previledged from the host communities, Zabarmari communities, and people with disabilities.
At the end of the training the participants were supported with improved Seeds of Onions, Tomatoes, Cabbages as well as Watering Can.
The participants were all full of joy, appreciation and prayed for the success of the current administration. They promised to judiciously apply the knowledge gained from the training.
